Connection to Harringay Warehouse District

“Harringay Warehouse District, “ said to have a unique power dynamic its not simply grass roots, nor bottom up, that’s far too linear- it has a power source that comes from the clash of differences.” This source of power which keeps Harringay Warehouse District as it is, is celebrated, thus celebrating the community and that which makes it possible. This being done through the realization of space and the harmony of that to nature. One of the only extant elements of nature in the scenario being light.

Proposal Outline

“Harringay Warehouse District, “ said to have a unique power dynamic its not simply grass roots, nor bottom up, that’s far too linear- it has a power source that comes from the clash of differences.” This source of power which keeps Harringay Warehouse District as it is, is celebrated, thus celebrating the community and that which makes it possible.
This being done through the realization of space and the harmony of that to nature. Nature in industrial sites, one of the only extant elements of nature in the scenario being light. Thus the space works with light through the way in which it opens up to the sky. One space creating a “top down” – otherwise served space where being in the space not only celebrates the relationship between humans and nature but also allows for activity of an insulated kind, while the other resembles a “bottom up” – otherwise service space which speaks more to its surroundings giving the opportunity for meeting and allowing community to prevail under a diffused light.
The former space, more pensive aloowing one to become aware of the space and the light while the latter allows for one to become aware of their neighbour and the community surrounding them with both existing in either case.
The dichotomy of light and morphology hoping for one to become aware of themselves and the role they play within the idea of communtiy.
the service representing the community, as the space continues outwards in a way described in the Confucinism idea of wu wei (meaning inaction or effortless action, in other words doing without doing) embodying the intangible presence of community.
While the served represents the individual within a community, with inward substance, singular, finite, yet as important as the community.
