Connection to Harringay Warehouse District

The Design is a playful construct with multiple gateways that allow it to serve as a temporary portal leading to the warehouse district. It’s usage of natural materials, Bamboo and Rattan, allows it to serve as counterpoint to the gritty urbanity of the Harringay district, providing a refreshing and unexpected natural refuge for visitors and performers.

Proposal Outline

Tropic PLay is a Bamboo and Rattan structure that envisages a recapture of the urban space through plants and people. The Bamboo Framework contains planted areas which grow around the framework, just as people grow and ebb around the Harringay District during the festival. The Structure is designed to be constructed with a zero carbon footprint and is entirely recyclable/ compostable.
