Tottenham Pavilion Conversations
launched for London Festival of Architecture’s Digital Festival 2020.
Tottenham Pavilion Conversations is a brand new collaboration between Tottenham Pavilion and KooZA/rch, a leading digital architectural platform, created in occasion of the London Festival of Architecture’s Digital Festival 2020.
In June of this year, our original plan was to be building the winning Pavilion design and feature it during the month long London Festival of Architecture. As a project, fully self-funded to date, we knew we never had riches to reward applicants which is why being involved in the world’s biggest annual architectural festival offered an alternative benefit. In light of covid-19, lockdown and social-distancing our plans, along with London Festival of Architecture, had to change. Different, but not defeated, a new opportunity arose from the challenge and today we’re excited to be announcing a fantastic addition to the project.
KooZA/rch
KooZA/rch is a digital platform which, through the image, aims to research, reveal and challenge our un/built environment. As a space which values the daring and the absurd, the alternative to the normal, the ideas which push contemporary pre-conceptions and boundaries, they were a natural partner for Tottenham Pavilion. With over 140,000 followers on Instagram alone, the opportunity to collaborate with KooZA/rch adds richness the project and profile for applicants involved.
LFA Digital 2020
The London Festival of Architecture (LFA) is the world’s largest annual architecture festival and showcases London as a global architectural hub, reaching a a global audience of 138 million last year. The LFA’s mission is to support London’s architectural and design talent, enthuse and engage with the public, and find new ways to look at familiar places. In 2020 the LFA is celebrating innovation and design through a digital events programme in June, and a more traditional programme of public events once it is safe to do so later in the year. A year-round programme of design competitions, design charrettes, campaigns and other activities also champions London as the best place in the world to practice and enjoy architecture.
Tottenham Pavilion Conversations
Through an interview series, curated for LFADigital2020, KooZA/rch will explore the project further by engaging in conversations with creatives. Exploring notions of ‘site’, ‘public space’, the power and role of the competition and the typology of the pavilion within contemporary architectural and cultural landscape. Guest speakers from the architectural sector, alongside warehouse tenants, artists and the Pavilion organisers will be involved through the series.
Podcasts will be released throughout the festival in June. Follow our partner KooZA/rch on social media to be kept updated:
